Jorge Bio:

 

Jorge is a graduate of Metropolitan Autonomous University in México City in Biochemical Engineering. He did his research thesis in Biological controls, specificaly Boveria bassiana, to be used as a  bioinsecticide to attack grasshopers in the larvae stage, protecting plants who are invaded by this parasite.

 

In 1996 moved to the States to learn English. From 1997 to 2004 he took English as a Second Language classes a the OCCC EOSL. In 1998 started working at Centro de Ayuda, as a Director. Centro de Ayuda is a non-profit agency, whose primary purpose is to serve as a bridge between the Latino/Hispanic and the Anglo community.

 

In 2000 he developed the Local Area Network in the office and moved it from Windows platform to Linux/Ubuntu platform (Free Software). He developed and designed the database system for Centro's office using MySQL and SSH server.

 

He has performed several functions in the agency such as: Liaison for the Latino/Hispanic community, presented several conferences about culture, acculturation, teaches Spanish classes, and obtained his Medical Interpreter Certification from Cascades East AHEC . Obtained his Legal Interpreter Qualification from the Oregon Judicial Department.

Joaquin Bio:

Joaquin is a graduate of Newport High school, and received his medical assistant certificate from Portland community college and is certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants.

Joaquin also has a certificate as a health coach from Oregon Health and Science University and his Medical Interpretor Certificate from Oregon Area Health Education Center. He is currently a pre-nursing student at Oregon Coast Community College, and a volunteer First Aid and CPR instructor with the American Red Cross; in his spare time he enjoys being with friends and playing golf.

Sofia Bio:

Sofia is a graduate from the Science and Humanities College, Vallejo Campus in Mexico City. She got her Administrative and Capturist Secretary Technical Degree from The Commercial, Idiomatic and Administrative Institute for Training in Mexico City. Sofia obtained her Medical Interpreter Certification from Cascades East AHEC.
